Sunbird/Hummingbird in the Philippines

By on October 23, 2021

The stay at home orders due to pandemic gave me the opportunity to reconnect with nature and wildlife. I began seeing species of birds that I’ve never seen before. This month, I began to notice the presence of hummingbirds around, with rain on and off, sometimes, showers are much more scattered, I was surprised to see them eating blossoms and performed the backward upside down position and hovered overhead.

Just like other pollinators which is fairly the same way as the bees and butterflies,

Hummingbirds enjoy nectar for the same reasons. The abundance of birds and other pollinators in our backyard is a source of great joy for me.

Little hummingbirds are really adorable! Hummingbirds are unique among birds in that they are able to both fly forward and backward.

When circumstances calls for photography, I’d hate to waste the chance to obtain some decent images with a relatively unposed subject. It takes a lot of patience to wait for the ideal moment and prefocus my camera on the branch where the hummingbird is likely to land, but by watching the birds I am able to easily have a good notion of where to stand and when to wait for the birds to move position in order to get a more natural appearance.

Hummingbirds are notoriously challenging to photograph due to their quick flight and small stature. Whenever I move, this bird takes off off the branch and flies a few feet away, but it always comes back after I calm down. I think the bird realized I was just attempting to shoot it and relaxed a bit.

The birds can always count on these blooms to provide for them. I really really wish these hummingbirds would return so I could take more stunning photographs of them.

Stunning Flower Fields in Full Bloom Chiang Mai

By on October 5, 2021

Muangkaen, located in Chiang Mai, is quickly becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Thailand. Mungkaen Flower Fields is a flower garden that covers a vast landscape and features vibrant cosmos flowers. It is a sight to behold with its fields of pretty blooms and uniquely charming cosmos that have been fully designed for pleasure and sightseeing. Chiang Mai is a mountainous city in northern Thailand known for its cool climate. It is most famous for its beautiful ancient temples, ethnic village (traditional and aboriginal) Beautiful flower fields can be found throughout this region. It is a wonderful place to visit due to the wonderful tourist attractions and the pleasant cool weather.

After having a wonderful time in Bangkok for three days, I traveled further north to Chiang Mai with my family and spent a day touring the flower fields in Muangkaen. The holiday season is a popular time to travel, and everyone had a good time together in Thailand, which is a popular vacation destination. I had no idea that going on vacation with your family and making memories together would become such an integral part of your life. We went to three of the most beautiful flower fields, which was a little bit of an outdoor adventure that celebrated the straightforward pleasures of everyday life. There, beauty blends beyond flowers, and it brilliantly won me over.

Those who are passionate about flowers should not miss a trip to Chiang Mai without seeing the stunning Muangkaen fields graceful blooms in abundance the majority of which range from bright pink to white and fuchsia. It should come as no surprise that tourists always start their sightseeing here, just like we did.

Muangkaen Flower Fields

We arrived at one of Chiang Mai’s most stunning flower fields bright and early, but there were already quite a few tourists milling about. My feelings while photographing the pretty blooms, It was a time in my life when I wished I could freeze it and stay for a little bit longer. This is something out of the ordinary, and it’s exactly what I’ve been craving.

Full blooming cosmos, which resemble daisies but are actually more compact and heavy bloomers, prefer growing in full sun and are among the quickest-growing annuals. (Check out the gallery below for illustrations)

Beautiful flowers, birds, butterflies, and bees flitted around.

The Muangkaen Flower Fields offer a one-of-a-kind setting for the recording of memoirs (historical accounts), in addition to being an ideal setting for pre-wedding photo shoots.

All of the photographs that I took while I was here will serve as the most valuable souvenirs that I take with me. Chiang Mai is a city in Thailand that is sure to captivate your heart if you are thinking about taking a trip to that country in the near future. Muangkaen is an essential stop to make if you find yourself in the northern region of Thailand.

Note: I am grateful to you, Papatson, my dear! I miss you… In the following posts, you’ll see more flower fields…

I am grateful that you took the time to visit my site.

Fruit Photography/Fresh Strawberry Pictures

By on September 22, 2021

Strawberries are at their peak right now and my present photography subject today. These fruits have a lot of vitamins and minerals as well as it’s a good source of fiber too. I want to emphasize a very simple setting to show some of my pictures taken during my ‘’Fruit Photography Hour.

My photography setup for inside is significantly more streamlined because everything I need is right next to me. When trying to get a close-up of fruit, I’ve found it challenging to capture the angles that make the fruit look the most natural, appealing, and enticing. Lightning is very important because it will reveal the texture of the fruits My aim is to make strawberries looks fresh even on pictures.

As a food blogger, you get to indulge your interests in cooking, writing, and photography. All of this has taught me a great deal as well. It’s rewarding to watch my hard work pay off in such a satisfying way.

Let’s check out some strawberry pictures

Intrinsic beauty of strawberries

My macro shots

Having a white background makes the image more vibrant and appealing, but this technique has been used before with different caught fruits. Using macro always presents a challenge for me because of the potential threat posed by tiny fruit particles.

To emphasize my point, I am adjusting the light levels so as to prevent any unwelcome shadows from forming. Macro photography requires close-up lenses and setups. Equipped with a 55 mm, 100 mm, or 200 mm macro lens, your camera will be able to perform exceptionally well at close range.

Strawberries on a white plate

The perfect white background for strawberries. My mood will rise and seems active, let me tell you how it was done, I used a white cardboard for the frame to reduce the intensity of light. The white background will make these fruits even brighter and sharp because it was done under full sun. If you know how to control the light by covering both sides using white cardboard to shelter from the wind and extra unwanted shadow reducing the intensity of the bright light or reflectors. The white background exposing the natural freshness of the fruit although, it is sharp.

Having a white background will emphasized more on the subject itself.

Strawberry on Green Background

Other fruits goes well with strawberries

It’s just as much fun to take pictures indoors, and I don’t have to worry about becoming too hot in the sun. It would appear I am trying to conceal anything; oh well, my skin is a pale brown to begin with. After a long day of labor, it’s rewarding to see the results of my efforts. Once I’m done taking pictures of these fruits, you can find them in my stomach.

well folks, it’s getting late, I need to go…

Take Care and Stay Safe

I appreciate you reading my blog posts and considering following it.

Peking Duck Wraps

By on September 17, 2021

Sumptuous dishes traditionally prepared and served in a grand style, the Peking Garden, 4th level Greenbelt 5, Makati City serves the best Peking duck in the city, it was the restaurant’s specialty as the name goes well with it. Tonight, is the birthday dinner celebration of my aunt, fabulous dinner served and the most popular choice. From the 10 courses meal served, the Peking duck and the Winter Melon Soup with assorted seafood was my 2 best favorites although meal’s highlight and star on the table is the savory Peking duck.

Winter Melon Soup with assorted seafood

The best comfort soup and our favorite.

The Peking duck is in good shape, well-cooked and the aroma is awesome. It was very tasty, and the skin is crispy. It is bound to reign on the table.

How to carve a whole Peking duck

The Peking duck was neatly carved into even slices by the server. Started with the breast diagonally towards her holding the wing with the fork and cut through the outer layer of the breast into the joint.

Carving the breast in thin slices parallel with the breastbone and repeating with the other side. It looks like very easy to carve because the knife is sharp, that’s the secret of perfect carving.

The thin flesh was carefully arranged in a circular shape following the edge of the plate on a big white plate with the crispy skin at the center or it work both ways. You can see the difference from the photos up and down. The duck flesh at the center and the crispy skin on the edge of the plate or vice versa.

After the carving and preparation, the Whole plate of Peking duck transferred to our table along with the tortilla, stalks of spring onions and the sweet hoisin sauce.

See how it looks, Attractively beautiful !

How to wrap a Peking Duck Strips

Lay one fine strip of Peking duck flesh on a tortilla wrapper, followed by the stalk of spring onions, add a spoon of sweet Hoisin sauce on top and lay another strip of Peking duck.

This is how it looks before wrapping.

The filling looks like this inside.

Hold one end of tortilla and roll it halfway. Fold both borders and roll it again to enclose properly.

Almost done, I’m leaving one end open to show the filling inside and roll it once again to finish.

One bite, followed by another bite and more pls… I’ve tasted Peking Duck from different restaurants before but these, nothing can equal the flavor, I’ve never tasted like it before. So far, the best among the rest.

Ok guys! you can drop a cute note down there, simple things makes me happy…

Thanks for reading my blog!

RAVE Pasig Rainforest Park

By on September 8, 2021

Keeping me active is a great approach to relieve my pandemic tension because there is never a dull moment. For the sake of nostalgia, I was looking through some old pictures stored in a folder on my computer’s desktop. Because of its unique attractions and the fact that it is only a 20-minute drive from my house, my first visit to Rainforest Adventure Park and my return there a year later remain as my most valuable experience to this day.

For me, the best way to ensure that the wonderful times of yesteryear will be around for future generations to enjoy is to keep fantasies of bygone eras alive. There’s a backstory behind this photo, just like there’s a reason why I’m taking it today. So, shall we?

This is just some old photos I wanted to post before the epidemic hit.(Every image was captured in January of 2018) This amusement park has limited hours. Covid-19 pandemic made big changes and far from over plz. I am not here to suggest that you go to this amusement park. In the meantime, you should remain at home.

Rainforest Adventure Park

It is the first adventure theme park constructed and managed by local govt. unit, it is the project of Mayor Bobby C. Eusebio and Pasic City Council. RAVE is equipped with different outdoor facilities, a leisure ground for the public located in village of Maybunga Pasig. It was opened in 1977 but relaunched as RAVE known as ‘’ Rainforest Adventure Park Experience’’ in 2013 after the completion of additional features such as the Zip line, Boating lagoon and Skatepark. It also features the following: Butterfly house, Boating Lagoon, Rapid rides, Park pavilion, Botanical Garden, Pool area, Aviary, Mammal sanctuary, Kiddy land, Train station, Amphitheatre, Flower fields, Chess pavilion, Reptile house, Mini Zoo, Maze Garden, Tree house as well as picnic and camping ground.

In the two hours I spent at RAVE, I was able to explore many of the exhibits and take photos in my favorite areas, including the Butterfly house and the Flower fields. The memories of my special connection with the zoo animals just won’t fade. This 4.8-hectare park packs in a lot of activities and attractions in a short amount of time, but if you want to see everything, you’ll need more than an hour.

Reanimating a prehistoric animal. The walkways are decorated with life-size statues of dinosaurs, giving the impression that you have stepped into a prehistoric country straight out of Jurassic Park. The dinosaur replicas are available for photo ops at your leisure.

Rainforest Adventure Park Attractions

Early March is when most tourists flock to Rainforest Park for the best boating, wildlife viewing, and flower viewing. All of the must-see attractions in the rainforest are in close proximity to one another; it’s a one-stop shop for a nice day in nature. RAVE is for you if you appreciate nature in all its forms, including flora, fauna, and aquatic organisms.

Boating Lagoon

Paddle boats on a man-made lagoon. A paddle boat is a self-propelled boat that can cover significant distances. The 20-minute paddle excursion was fun for my sister and me and a great opportunity to get some exercise.

Butterfly House

I’ve spent more time at this location than I like to admit getting up up and personal with the butterflies so I can photograph them. This stunning habitat had a garden full with different kinds of butterflies.

My favorite spot to capture the most colorful insects. Butterflies are my favorite subject to photograph as well as my favorite agent of pollination. My endless photo shoot shows my great admiration for them. I have captured great photos and of course, I realized the power of pictures, it’s difficult to select which one fits the best.

Amaze Garden

An outdoor garden maze is a puzzle game, the dividers are made of plants formatted into a maze and it’s quite tough and confusing to solve the path route to the end.

Flower Fields

The giant sunflowers are the garden’s backbone and the major attraction, yet they are just one of the many wonderful things to see in Rainforest Garden. The Flower Fields landscape style incorporates a wide range of flowering plants, including popular perennials and annuals, into a cohesive whole.

Wind beneath the eye-catching monster sunflowers are perfectly attractive and sun-kissed pointing skyward. Adventure photography is a must-do here.

Botanical Garden

A lovely walk around worth seeing situated next to the flower fields is the Botanical Garden.

Deep well is an open framework that serves as a garden accent.

Aviary

The Bird Sanctuary, also known as bird flight cages, is a refuge for migratory and threatened bird species. A little stop to take pictures of the birds is an essential part of my day. There are several stunning birds in the area.

Crowd pleasing ducks

Petting Zoo

It is a combination of wild and domesticated animals, you are free to touch but not allowed to feed them. This attraction is a family leisure activity.

There’s no need to be in a hurry; there are benches spread out conveniently all around to let you take a load off and relax in the shade. In the end, you’ll have seen and done everything there is to see and do at Rainforest.

Locating the RAVE Pasig Rainforest Adventure Park: the Essential Information.

Three hours later, the sun is nearly at its zenith. After a fun and exhausting day, my sister and I headed home about noon.

Needing more? The highlights of Rainforest Park cannot be covered in a single post. When I return, I really hope the weather is nice…

Thank you for reading my blog!

Goodnight Everyone!

Winter Melon Bowl

By on August 23, 2021

Winter melon Bowl is a vegetable shell and an excellent serving dish for soup. The good thing about the shell, it’s quiet thick and good enough to hold the heat of the soup.

Double-Boiled Winter Melon Soup with Assorted Seafood

This is the internal part, wide and clear white. I don’t see any damage parts.

Complete example of Winter melon shell, Four Winter melon Bowl on the table, wrapped in plastic Cling wrap to support  the whole shell. It’s heavy that needs a support to stand but no signs of swelling at the base.

Two servers carefully ladled in assorted seafood inside the shell and scraped the flesh of winter melon using a long-handed cup-shaped spoon followed by the clear soup to fill each bowl. For our finale, picking a piece of shrimps over the edge of the winter melon bowl.

Seasonal Fresh Fruits in a Glass

By on August 13, 2021

I’ve prepared fresh fruits in a glass before my snack time, it’s quiet earlier than the regular time so it will not lessen my appetite for the next meal. Today’s assorted fruits are the following: kiwi, red watermelon, papaya, dragon fruit, red apples, grapes, oranges, sweet pineapples, and strawberries as the best example of my favorites. It’s just a fresh fruit to increase my strength for today’s physical activity.

Fresh fruit medley, a wonderfully assorted fruit combination combining different colors and flavors, unique taste come in. Lately, I had indigestion, so I avoided large meals, a small frequent meal is good and something light and nutritious just like these fruits are the best source of vitamins and minerals, high in fiber and good for digestion. I eat more at breakfast and lunch, less for supper but most of the time skipping supper if my tummy is already full but for me, skipping meals is not a good idea because I need more energy, I don’t want my body to lower its metabolism, I need a better mood day after.

From the garden, a call to wear face mask when preparing food at home.

Fresh Fruit Platter

 Bite-sized pieces of fruits

See how fresh it is! It was cleanly cut into bite sized pieces and beautifully arranged inside a cocktail glass.

More than just another pretty way to bring out the best in fruits. This is just a simple serving idea for fresh fruits, it is also good for special set-up, a pick-up snack and dessert.

Stay Safe and Healthy! See you again next posts..

The Biggest Lights and Music Show

By on August 9, 2021

The 9th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition

An annual competition among fireworks manufacturers from different countries, it is the most spectacular and prestigious fireworks competition completely choreographed with lights and sound features. The first World Pyro Olympic took place in 2005, keeping the same venue year after year for 8 years and lasted 2018, their final fireworks show at Seaside Blvd. SM Mall of Asia. A sudden change of location the following year, venue was moved to Clark, Pampanga in support of Manila Bay Rehabilitation program.

The host country, Philippines didn’t participate in the competition but performs fireworks vibrant display on the last night. The competition started at 7:30 PM when spectacular explosion of colors and figures shot off from the floating barge and light up the night sky over Manila Bay.

Some pictures captured from different viewing spots, its hard to do proper shoot, it was crowded around my area. Polaris fireworks of China was truly good. So far, it was a night favorite, the best fireworks that I’ve ever watched live.

Stunning Close-Up Photos of Honeybees

By on August 4, 2021

My Macro Photography

With macro, you can see how detailed the small portion of the honeybee appearance. These honeybees are my morning visitors, I was fortunate to take photos with ease all in the comfort of our own garden.

Honeybee constant movement and flight patterns is difficult to take, it really requires patience and observation. During photography time as my most quiet moments, I treat bees as my friends the same way as humans, it’s just a bond throughout photography hour. I just need them to keep still for a second for zoom setting.

Honeybees Extreme Close-Up Shots

As the morning sunshine illuminates the honeybees, it lends a golden glow to this scene.

You can clearly see their complete body parts; triangular head, pair of sensory antennae, thorax, abdomen, three pairs of legs, outer shell called exoskeleton.

Honeybees has 5 eyes: 2 compound eyes and 3 simple eyes.

Till next post… Take care and Keep Safe
