By on August 8, 2016

Flowers adds beauty to any garden especially if it blends with other flowering trees, plants and rocks effectively. To most people prefer to collect flowering plants as stunning displays to enjoy the greenery with a surprising variety of colors flourishing under the sun or partly shaded. Selection of flowering plants must be suitable to every garden, great growth and greater number of blooms if it will extend the flowering season is the best choice that could simply makes a beautiful landscape.

Better than the rest to consider, Hibiscus or Rose Mallow or Chinese rose (Rosa-Sinensis)  is known as ”Gumamela in the Philippines, shrubs up to 15 feet tall that could reach 3 feet tall for summering outdoors with green leaves. The bell flaring petals with a distinctive column of yellow stamen. Although not sweetly scented, Hibiscus is  extremely an attractive blooming plant with delightful flowers for indoor and outdoor enjoyment that could possibly live for many years with care because it can withstand even if the soil is excessively dry.

Nowadays, color range is very wide, probably greater than any other flowers self colors, multi-colors and binocolors are now available in innumerable shades. The most commonly available varieties and rare kinds of Hibiscus colors; pink blooms, salmon, fuchsia, purple, blue, orange, lavender,  peach, red and red-orange. To my wide research, Like roses, flowers of hibiscus plants can be made into a hot tea for stomach pain, cancer and weight loss.

Summer Gardening

By on July 25, 2016

I’ve always been curious about doing gardening around,I was even more interested in collecting and planting flowering plants in the backyard although our backyard garden is not so spacious. I’ve mixed the flowering plants, fruit trees and vegetables together as one. With too much effort to deal with it, I was much excited to see the result as photography plays a very important role to my morning pleasure.

Last summer, I bought some gardening materials and seeds before summering gardening started but many of our house plants kept indoors  to control the light level but, light outdoors are never been great as outdoors. I’ve observed they seems to grow more slowly and need a special care.

It’s rainy season now, Some of our flowering plants drops most of its leaves and flowers turned yellow and very pale. Is it over watering? I really thought it would stay longer like a promising healthy plants I’ve seen around in garden parks. Different flowering plant needs different kind of care like watering, kind of soil and sunlight. Not to mention the night cool temperature and temperate level. That’s tough to handle, huh! I don’t really care,it’s my own and I was much inspired to see the fruit of my effort.

Waling-Waling

By on April 14, 2016

Waling-Waling or Vanda Sanderiana is the ”Queen of Philippine orchids has a very distinctive spotted petals. It produced fully opened shapely blooms with a degree of striking violet spotting and white edging that tends to look better in upright position. With the intense work carried by nurseries of today, this rare kind becoming more accessible however, the rare specimen still costly up to the present.

Orchids are very difficult to grow, given the right care, they will flower regularly 2x to 3x a year. Orchid habitats are certainly being destroyed in other parts of the world, using the modern technique of tissue culture, rare species are now being multiplied.

Orchids

By on April 9, 2016

Fascinating and very decorative in value but growing is relatively not that simple because the ideal temperature admittedly not that easy to achieve especially if you are living in the Philippines. Many people wants to grow only fragrant flowers like roses and Sampaguita which is the national flower in the Philippines because it’s easy to handle but still some prefer orchids because of its beauty and elegance.

If you are an orchid lover or collector, soon you will learn to be an expert grower or perhaps to propagate and breed your own hybrids. If you think about orchids seed production, germination and all structures for growing to create glass house, greenhouse sterile containers and all number of tasks to be carried out. Ohh! it’s a tough work for me! Anyway, all efforts soon will be rewarded to see the long lasting colors.

The elegant display were selected for their rarity and unique color. Other varieties are already common and increasingly affordable nowadays however, the waling-waling type is very costly and often cost thousands of pesos and still very expensive up to the present. Check Waling-waling below.

Waling-Waling or Vanda Sanderiana with striking violet, purple and fuchsia tones with elegant spots which is an interesting combination. Of course ! I want to have an extremely beautiful collection like this one but waling-waling is just as too expensive.

In here, you will see orchids with the best known graceful and expensive species of Phalaenopsis varieties.Long and lasting available in full range of colors.

I was inspired to see the beauty of phalaenopsis, it’s a pleasure to savour. It’s worth to see and appreciate in close distance. Characterized with graceful bloomers is a reasonable return for my effort.

IMG_0965 copy

Today, morning sky is a bit cloudy with slow rain showers, unlike yesterday that it was clear and sunny. It’s good I was able to photographed  few subjects in the morning. Aw ! You’ll see the result of my photography done yesterday. It’s photography addict, LOL ! I just need these images for blog posts, not necessarily picture attached is important but, with the presence of images related to the topic, you’ll understand what I’m talking about and what is being described. Problems will only exist if the sky is cloudy, the result would be much better with the natural light of the day. I wasn’t aware of the  weather condition about weather forecast. Sometimes, It is supposed to be cloudy but, it turned out to be sunny and vice-versa.

Nowadays, it is really unpredictable. I just have to make  few adjustments of my time. Earlier shooting in advance would be better,I’ll take the opportunity to shoot more during hot dayPhotography practice is already a part of my everyday life. Here’s my subject for today, A flowering plant bearing tiny fruits in an apple green background.

Note: I’m still doing my research. I don’t have reference book  about flowering wild plants.I don’t know the name of these flower. What I can remember, I bought these plant during my visit in Tagaytay city. I can’t remember the name anymore. Next post soon.

Flowering Bulb

By on September 11, 2013

What a pleasant surprised to see the first display in the garden, the gorgeous ”Amaryllis bulb flowers”. Theflower looks attractive with the combination of white and pink lined petals. These particular variety grown in partial shade enriched with our own home-composed soil. It’s quiet easy to grow but watering priority during summer droughts.

Sometimes, they become too crowded and compact, I’ve divided some and replant it all over again on the same place. I’ve photographed it to be my first gorgeous subject in the morning. Photographing a lovely subject is an entertaining ritual especially if it’s done first hour in the morning. It’s cool to do it especially if it goes well and appropriate for my time, more so for the enjoyment of nature. Here’s my angle shots!
